Pudding Mill Lane Station is set to be a key station on the new Queen Elizabeth Line (Crossrail) network, which will slash journey time for east/west travel across London and beyond.

The new station, now the largest on the DLR network, was one of the first Crossrail Portal Stations to be built and was designed by award-winning architect Weston Williamson + Partners. The upgraded station, situated just south of its predecessor between the River Lea and City Mill River, will allow it to carry an extra 1,100 passengers per hour. This higher capacity is also essential because of significant new developments in the area.

DMC played a key role in creating the upgraded station. Work included the supply and installation of platform copers, tactiles and paving, complete with Aco drainage channels and structural movement joints with access covers and matwells.
