The King’s Cross Tunnel links the transport hubs of King’s Cross and St Pancras to Granary Square, Coal Drops Yard and shops and restaurants by the canal. Ninety metres long, it features an LED-lit ‘art wall’, which is used to display artistic commissions. It has even been used as a catwalk during London Fashion Week.

DMC contributed to the project by providing and installing ceramic floor tiling, screeding, stair nosings and wall tiling. Due to the complex nature of setting out the curved tunnel flooring, all tiles had to be water jetted off-site. Getting this done accurately was essential to the project’s success. In addition, the floor design had to be reflected in the ceiling, which we achieved thanks to early and collaborative design workshops with the ceiling contractor.
