Victoria Underground Station

Main Contractor

Taylor Woodrow/BAM Nuttall

Value

£4m

Victoria is the third busiest station on the London Underground network, handling almost 23 million passengers in 2020.

Before a £700 million upgrade of the station was completed in 2018, the station experienced such overcrowding that crowd control measures had to be deployed on a regular basis. The revamped station is now twice its original size and now provides accessible, step-free access.

As part of the station redevelopment, DMC was instrumental in delivering wall and flooring finishes. Using the experience we have gained from completing over 100 stations throughout the London Underground, we were able to deliver this project with significant value engineering whilst still maintaining the required aesthetics and historical charm of the old station.
