London Gatwick Airport is the second busiest in the UK, welcoming over 46.5 million passengers in 2019 and handling almost 285,000 flights. Gatwick is served by more than 45 major airlines, some of which use the airport as their most important base.

The airport has two major terminals: South, which opened in 1958, and North, which was unveiled in 1988. The North Terminal has a footprint of 98,000m² and has recently been the subject of major investment, with the aim of transforming it into a world-class terminal.

DMC has played a significant role in the North Terminal’s refurbishment. Working in collaboration with Balfour Beatty since 2013, we have completed the entire flooring package for Level 10, including toilets, check-in, baggage areas, access routes and the World Duty Free zones. Work to date has included the supply and installation of 10,000m² of screeding, large-format floor tiles, precast stair units, vinyl flooring and structural movement joints.
